Happy Holidays ~!! From the Strategic Book Group

Posted in Uncategorized on November 19, 2009 by Donnette E Davis

Happy Holidays from Management and Staff of the Strategic Book Group!

Our offices will be “closed” during the entire week of Thanksgiving and will operate with a skeleton staff.

As you may know, the publishing industry slows down during the holiday season. This year, we will be slowing down as well to spend much needed time with friends and family. Also, we have some great things happening with international expansion and book marketing and we will be doing some restructuring over the holidays to come out even stronger in the New Year. So, we wish you an early happy holidays and ask you to please be patient if there is a slowdown in our email responses. We will be working with a skeleton crew so we will take care of any emergencies. Of course the book sales department will be operating at full speed so don’t worry about placing your book order (Although we do suggest you order early and miss the Christmas rush). And, we offer our sincere best wishes for 2010.

Questions that come from our Client Care Matrix will be given first priority. http://www.aegpublishinggroup.com/clientcare.html Please be sure to make an accurate choice when using the client care matrix; this will help speed a correct response.

Please do become familiar with using this site for the life of our business relationship.

The 2009 Book Expo America was a resounding success for our authors and Strategic Book Group! Check out the pictures here:http://s639.photobucket.com/albums/uu112/aegpublishinggroup/?albumview=slideshow

Note from MD Robert: I did it and it is great! Kelly is a superb show host. She made me feel comfortable, and really, the show was over before I knew it. And I know it is reaching people because we are already getting questions and business from it.

Note from an Author: Dear Kelly – it was great working with you on the interview, my first! I found your request to have me script beforehand the questions and answers that would make up the bulk of the interview very helpful. It enabled me to think about the information I wanted to convey to listeners and readers regarding my novel, and it gave me rehearsal material. Then, in the interview, you helped me through my initial jitters and transformed the script into a genuine conversation. By the end, I was having fun! And then it was over before I knew it. So far, comments I’ve had from those who have listened in have been positive, so the positive atmosphere you created is shining through. I’m sure it will prove a terrific way to promote my book. Thanks again!

Marketing on the Internet can be time-consuming, complex, and frustrating. Even if you have a website and book, that’s not enough. Having your own radio interview or talk show creates an instant level of authority and allows you to be located more easily online. Without thorough marketing you may never be found, or it could take
months, if not years, to build a strong online presence.

Strategic Book Marketing offers authors a way to reach their audience with live talk show interviews.

How do live talk shows help?

Internet radio is one of the fastest growing and biggest marketing opportunities. Not only will your listeners be able to hear the live stream of your interview or talk show, but your show is archived so people can download it at any time in the future. You can post the link or radio player directly to your website and on networking profiles, helping you to quickly build a bigger and bigger fan base. This is one of the easiest ways to sell more books, and get more interviews and reviews.

Since we broadcast over the World Wide Web, anyone who has Internet access will have access to your show. You can reach listeners in any country around the world.

Get top listing on Google and Yahoo! Every one of our authors who have done a show with us appears on the first page of Google, Yahoo, and other major search engines. In fact, most of them are listed in the #1 spot! Many people pay thousands of dollars to secure these spots, yet this is just one of the many perks of doing a radio interview through us.

Internet radio is quickly overtaking traditional AM/FM and even Satellite radio. You don’t have to worry about bad reception, being heard only in certain places at certain times, or paying thousands of dollars for advertising. Having a radio interview or talk show through us is one of the most cost-effective and influential ways of marketing yourself.

FAQs:

Do I have to go to a studio to record the show?

No. You do the show right from your own home by using your computer connected to the Internet and your telephone. It’s very simple and no expensive equipment is needed.

How do I do the interview talk show?

We’ll set everything up for you then at any convenient time for you we’ll conduct an interview. All you have to do is call in and answer a few questions. You will have the interplay with a professional announcer, and the show will be just like a radio talk show. The whole process is very easy, unhurried and relaxed. If you ever want to have more shows, or update your show, we can arrange that easily and conveniently.

What have past guests had to say about their radio show interview?

We’ve gotten excellent and excited feedback from authors who have had their radio interview through us. Here are just a few of the many we’ve received:

  • I like what you do, and the way you do it. You are the most credible I have come across in an industry of scams.
  • - Wow! At first I was nervous, but Kelly made me feel really comfortable. I had a great time and have already made a few books sales!
  • -At first I was skeptical about doing a radio interview, but when it was over I felt very excited. The following morning my inbox was flooded with congratulatory emails and even book orders!
  • I just wanted to let you know that Kelly is one of the most helpful and competent persons I have ever worked with. It is just a delight to see how she made everything pleasant and easy for me during the show.
  • I had a great time, Kelly! You took a boring subject and made it seem interesting. I can’t wait to do this again!
  • -My Author Showcase interview was such a success I just scheduled my own Author Exclusive show. Thank you for this great
    opportunity.

Do the shows really bring in listeners and sales?

You bet!  For example, one of our authors has had over 10,000 people listen to his show just in the last month alone.  This has helped him to make many book sales he otherwise wouldn’t have.

Computer Usage Can be a Serious Health Risk for Everyone.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure when it comes to avoiding the unnecessary pain many people suffer today as a result of “computer burnout.” Author Adetutu Ijose shares her experiences and years of health research in this easy-to-follow handbook which identifies common symptoms of computer-related injuries.

For many years, Ijose worked in the IT and financial sector. Deluded by the general belief that the computer environment was relatively “harmless,” Ijose would dismiss the symptoms of tiredness and fatigue she experienced while working, unaware of the damage that was slowly affecting her body as well as her brain. Gradually, the compounding effects began creating a host of medical challenges, eventually preventing her from performing normal job duties.

This book will help you not only prevent injuries, but also understand the dangerous physiological aspects related to computer usage. For example, did you know that working on a computer could:

- Result in exposure to lead?

- Cause an acute iron deficiency?

- Create chemical and electrical imbalances?

With vital information than can speed up recovery from computer related injuries and disorders, Lessons I Learned the Hard Way is a must read for computer users everywhere.

Stay: The Search Begins by Ian Newbegin

Mind travel is a reality. Beings from all over the universe work together as operatives for the Inter Galactic Council to maintain peace. However, components of the original mind transfer device, which could also alter the mind permanently, have been found. The council fears that a crucial component containing the circuitry for the device has been seen on the planet Tishog and if it falls into the wrong hands, mind control would be a possibility, making it possible to change the course of history in favor of those in control of the device. The council, therefore, must retrieve it first to ensure universal safety. Frank Melton, a reluctant operative from Earth, teams up with others to retrieve the missing piece.

About the Author

Ian Newbegin is a late bloomer to writing novels but not to writing generally. He has written and published a study guide (Australian Study guide, Information Australia, 1985) and four journal articles, three that were peer reviewed. During the year 1999, he completed his PhD after which time he gained a passion for writing to relieve boredom, but mainly to formalize an idea he held for a novel ten years previous. Needless to say, his thesis involved the study of procrastination. As a young adult, Ian practiced Karate and meditation, eventually teaching it to students at school along with relaxation techniques. Later, he developed the concept of ‘mind travel’ from the principles involved in meditation, which forms the basis of the book, Stay. Ian has four adult children, six grand children, and a loving wife who supports his passion for writing.

Walking Through the Valley of the Shadow of Death by Kimberly Carolan

At the end of one life, a new journey begins for those who have to live without their loved one. Walking through the Valley of the Shadow of Death helps those left behind “survive” death.

http://www.prlog.org/10218646-walking-through-the-valley-of-the-shadow-of-death.jpg

Walking through the Valley of the Shadow of Death is a book about one of the most uncomfortable subjects that people will face – death. Written from a Christian perspective, it explores the anatomy of grief, bereavement and what people around those who have experienced the death of a loved one may be looking for from their friends. Delving into what the Bible teaches about grief, and what friends of survivors can do to effectively minister to those grieving, the book’s practical guidelines will help both the grief stricken and those trying to help bereaved friends and family overcome their loss.
